Metacafe, the Israel-based video Web site, is moving its headquarters to the Bay Area, increasingly a magnet to new Internet entertainment sites that rely on content created by the masses.

The move is critical for the start-up in the competitive market for clicks and eyeballs, said Metacafe founder and chief executive Arik Czerniak.

“We have to set our sights high,” he said during a recent trip to Palo Alto. “The best Internet companies are here.”
